Graduate in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Doctor in Medicine from the Universities of Fribourg (Germany) and Cantabria (Spain). He spent several post-doctoral stays to train in Cancer Molecular Biology at the German National Center for Cancer Research and at Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (USA). He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology via clinic training, and practiced that specialty at Valdecilla Hospital in Santander and Cruces Hospital in Bilbao. After that, he became Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service at Valdecilla Hospital and the Río Hortega Hospital. At present, he holds the same position in Valladolid. Besides, he is Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Valladolid University. He has written 130 indexed publications and has an “h” = 26 index.
